FAQs
What is the studio like?
ZAPA is housed in a spacious, fenced warehouse with high ceilings and sturdy rigging points. We offer a marley-covered climbing area with mats, adjustable apparatuses for all skill levels, a workout corner with fitness equipment, and a comfortable viewing area. Lockers and ample parking are available. Bathrooms are a short walk from the main studio.
How hot or cold is the studio?
Located in a former cotton gin, our raw warehouse space closely reflects outside temperatures. It can get quite hot in summer and cold in winter. We use heating and cooling units and schedule classes to maximize comfort. In extreme weather, classes may be canceled with make-ups offered.
What should I bring and wear?
We provide all equipment—you only need to wear form-fitting clothes that cover legs, midriff, and underarms (leggings, leotards, or unitards work well). Avoid baggy clothes and remove all jewelry to protect yourself and our equipment. Bare feet or socks are fine (note socks can be slippery). Bring water and cooling towels, especially in warm months. In winter, bring layers without zippers.
Do I have to make an account on VAMP?
Yes. A VAMP account is required to take classes at ZAPA. It lets you register for classes, manage payments, purchase memberships or punch cards, reserve workshop spots, track your progress, and sign waivers.
How do I know what class to sign up for?
New to aerial? Start with our Intro to Aerial class, suitable for all ages and experience levels. Experienced students should contact us for personalized class recommendations. We also offer fitness and movement classes.
Email us anytime at hello@ziaaerialperformingarts.com.
How do I move up in class levels?
Each class builds skills and strength toward the next level. Instructors track progress and recommend when you’re ready to advance. It’s normal to repeat levels for mastery. Classes evolve each session to keep things fresh.
What happens if I miss a class?
If you miss a class for personal reasons, you may take one make-up class at your skill level at the end of the session. If the studio cancels a class, a make-up will be scheduled.
Can I bring my own aerial apparatus?
Please use only studio-provided equipment during classes. If you wish to practice on a specialty apparatus during Open Studio, you must sign an additional waiver and have the equipment inspected and approved by ZAPA staff beforehand.
Is filming allowed during class?
Filming requires instructor permission. You must get consent from everyone filmed before posting on social media. Please tag ZAPA when sharing.
Can parents/visitors watch classes?
Yes, parents/visitors may observe from the designated viewing area. Please avoid distracting students during class. Please refrain from side coaching or instructing students from the viewing area to ensure a focused and respectful environment for everyone.
What are the age requirements?
Open Studio, Aerial Strength, and Workout Center are 18+. Adult aerial classes are ages 13+, youth classes are ages 8 - 13. Students who are 13 years old may enroll in either the kids’ or adult classes based on the parent’s preference.
What is the studio environment like?
Our studio is a welcoming, encouraging, and community-oriented space—a safe haven where every aerialist can grow, explore, and belong.
What is your policy on safety and injuries?
Disclose any injuries, pregnancy, or mental health conditions before class. Follow all safety instructions and studio protocols.
Do you have performance opportunities?
ZAPA is currently in its growth phase and does not have regular performance opportunities yet. In the near future, we plan to offer performance classes for experienced students to develop their skills and showcase their artistry
